ISSUES

Substance Use & Mental Health

Addiction and mental health conditions do not discriminate. No Rhode Islander should go without access to effective and affordable care. Increasing insurance reimbursement rates means mental health and substance use treatment providers can continue to care for Rhode Islanders in need.

Environment

Climate change is real and is causing devastating damage to our towns. Dangerous flooding continues to pose a risk to the lives and livelihoods of all Rhode Islanders. Supporting infrastructure improvements can help us adapt to environmental changes.

Healthcare

Healthcare is a human right. No one should be forced to choose between groceries and medications. Prescriptions need to be affordable and medical care accessible for all Rhode Islanders.

Economy & Labor

Minimum wage has been stagnant for years, causing far too many to struggle with every day costs. Kelsey supports increasing the minimum wage so that all Rhode Islanders can afford the quality of life they deserve. She is a strong support of unions and workers right to collective bargaining.

Education

As the daughter of a public school teacher, Kelsey recognizes the importance of high quality public school education. All children in Rhode Island deserve an education environment that is healthy, safe, and able to provide the resources needed to ensure their success.

Housing

Housing is a human right. Rhode Islanders need safe housing, affordable housing, and low-income housing. Expanding eviction protection and implementing rent control policies will help ensure that all Rhode Islanders have a place to call home.
